Well, I was hoping to have some good news to share with you today about the date for our fundraiser, but we're still waiting. I've got a really good lead for a potential venue, but nothing is set yet. The headmaster of the school will be back in the office next week, so we're really hoping to have a date pinned down next week. I was hoping for this week, but I realize everyone is on their last summer vacations before school starts in just a few weeks. All of the "fun" things for the day are really starting to come together, but, of course, we have to have a venue before anything can happen. As soon as we know anything I promise to post here and we'll need your help to start spreading the word.
We are also talking about having a softball tournament here in Nashville to help raise money. Lots of ideas...we just need to make them all happen so that this grant can be a success! Hopefully next post will have our date and location set.

CHARLIE'S STORY
- "To Infinity & Beyond!"
- Charlie was born June 17, 2004: 8 lbs 13 oz., 21 inches long and was a perfect, healthy little baby. On January 3, 2006, however, he was diagnosed with AML, Acute Myeloid Leukemia and was admitted to Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital in Nashville, TN. He went through five rounds of chemotherapy ending in June of 2006. After almost seven full months in the hospital he was released in July 2006 and was a happy, healthy 2-year-old. On December 28, 2006 Charlie relapsed and was readmitted to inpatient care. He went through another difficult chemotherapy regimen to prepare him for a bone marrow transplant. On March 16, he received a bone marrow transplant from an anonymous, matched donor through a national registry. All was going to plan until he got severe graft-versus-host disease that did not respond to steroids. He was admitted back to the hospital and spent two more months in the hospital trying to fight. Charlie passed away on June 28, 2007. He had just turned 3 years old.
